Business Spotlight of the Month
The Glasgow Barren County Chamber’s Business Development Committee is committed to the growth of the Downtown business district. The April Small Business Spotlight focuses on one business who is making the downtown area a thriving business area.
Fine Arts Bistro is located at 143 North Public Square. Peggy and Sandy Bates purchased the building to preserve a part of the Glasgow square history and renovated it according to the guidelines required to remain on the National Registry of Historical Places. In 2010, the renovation was complete and Fine Arts Bistro was introduced to Glasgow as a place for espresso coffees, fresh and healthy entrée selections, and home of the Arts Guild of the Barrens. As FAB has evolved, the Bates have kept their commitment to providing, as much as possible, fresh locally harvested foods, healthy choice entrees, and embracing local artists by allowing them to display and sell their work in the café. They open their doors to start up entrepreneurs that need a place to host business introductions and meetings. Continuing to look at ways to expand, the Bates purchased a coffee roaster and now roast beans from all over the world on a weekly basis. They are the only coffee roaster in Barren County. KY PROUD FAB Coffee is used in all their coffee drinks, can be purchased for home use, and they have plans for distribution to outside stores soon. The Bates’ catering business and event venue FAB Studios & Catering CO opened in 2016. The Bates now have expanded to cater and deliver on a regional level from a simple breakfast to an elegant dinner to receptions for large celebrations. Fine Arts Bistro is open Monday-Saturday for breakfast and lunch. For more information about any of the services provided by FAB, contact Peggy Bates.
Congratulations Peggy, Sandy, and everyone at FAB for being chosen as Glasgow Barren County Chamber of Commerce Small Business Spotlight!!
